Description
The PAF CP is a comprehensive strategic framework that forms part of El Salvador's Family Agriculture Plan, aimed at strengthening the productive capacities of 70,000 agricultural families to increase productivity and reduce food imports. The program implements the Field Schools (ECAS) methodology to facilitate knowledge and technology transfer across eight priority agro-productive chains: basic grains, dairy, fruits, coffee, beekeeping, vegetables, cocoa, and aquaculture. The initiative seeks to develop producers' capacities in production, collection, processing, and commercialization, promoting effective linkage of family farmers to value chains and national markets. The framework establishes inter-institutional coordination mechanisms between MAG, IICA, CENTA, ENA, and other entities to provide comprehensive technical assistance and technology transfer. Its fundamental objective is to reposition the Salvadoran agricultural sector through modernization, diversification, and competitiveness with emphasis on revaluing family agriculture as the foundation of sustainable rural development.
