Technical Sanitary Standard for Authorization of Installation and Operation of Pig Farms

Description

This standard establishes the hygienic conditions that farms dedicated to pig breeding and exploitation must comply with to obtain installation and operation authorization. It defines specific sanitary requirements including location in rural areas with a 100-meter protection zone, adequate infrastructure with wastewater evacuation systems and waste treatment. It establishes biosafety conditions for employees, zoonosis control and animal disease prevention programs. It includes special provisions for backyard pig breeding limiting the quantity to 25 animals and establishing specific sanitary measures.
