Technical Standard for Sanitary Authorization of Poultry Farms

Description

This standard establishes the sanitary hygienic conditions that poultry farms dedicated to breeding and exploitation of birds must comply with to obtain sanitary authorization. It defines specific requirements for farms with more than 500 birds including location outside the urban radius with a 50-meter protection zone, waterproofed infrastructure with adequate drainage and ventilation systems. It establishes biosafety conditions for workers, insect and rodent control programs, sanitary management of solid waste and poultry manure. It includes special provisions for backyard poultry farming limiting between 100 and 500 birds with specific sanitary requirements.
