Practical guide: The Ecosystem Approach to Decent Rural Youth Employment and Entrepreneurship

Fecha de inicio: 2025
Fecha de fin: 2025

Description

The ecosystem approach developed by IFAD aims to promote decent employment and youth entrepreneurship in rural areas. Through the Agribusiness Hub (ABH) Programme, key actors such as training institutions, businesses, financial services, and government entities are connected to provide youth with skills development, job matching, and continuous support. The model is implemented in three phases: preparation, skills development, and post-employment mentoring. The document also highlights key lessons, such as the importance of adapting strategies to local contexts and recognizing the diversity among rural youth. Specific measures are recommended to include more vulnerable groups and enhance women’s participation. Additionally, the integration of digital tools, sustainability, and ongoing monitoring is encouraged to improve outcomes and ensure long-term impact.
