Description
The sustainable cattle ranching NAMA is a public policy aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions generated by meat and milk supply chains, and increasing the amount of carbon stored in agro-ecosystems with cattle vocation. This policy seeks to boost the increase in productivity and competitiveness of Colombian cattle ranching by 2030, ensuring environmental sustainability through efficient use of water, soil, productive inputs and comprehensive biodiversity management. The NAMA focuses its actions on 31 productive clusters located in seven ecoregions of the country, implementing strategies for sustainable intensification, area liberation for ecological restoration and waste utilization. The implementation of these strategies could reduce net emissions between 15.2% and 33.9% by 2030, contributing significantly to the national mitigation target of 51% established in Colombia's NDC.
