Description

The Regulations of the Law for the Promotion and Development of Family Farming, approved by Supreme Decree, define the responsibilities of the State in promoting this activity as a key axis for food security, agrobiodiversity conservation, rural development and environmental sustainability. The Multisectoral Commission for the Promotion and Development of Family Farming was created, which is permanent and attached to MINAGRI, and is responsible for regulatory follow-up and interinstitutional coordination. Family farming is recognized for its basis in family labor, limited access to resources, territorial proximity and its contribution to climate resilience. With regard to financing, AGROBANCO and other actors in the financial system must implement mechanisms adapted to the needs of the sector.
