Description

The Regulation on Slaughtering of Animals for Slaughter, approved by Supreme Decree No. 015-2012-AG) aims to establish the sanitary provisions that regulate this activity throughout the national territory, in order to ensure the safety of primary production food intended for human consumption and improve the efficiency of slaughtering processes, contributing to the strengthening of livestock development. It is mandatory for all natural or legal persons, public or private, directly or indirectly involved in activities related to slaughtering, including handling, primary processing, storage and marketing of carcasses, meat and offal. The National Agricultural Health Service (SENASA) acts as the competent authority in charge of issuing the necessary provisions, directives and measures to ensure the correct implementation of the regulation.
