Peru: Multisectoral Rural Strategy for the prevention, care, protection and recovery from violence against women and family members and sexual violence in rural areas (Supreme Decree N.° 007-2023-MIMP)

Supreme Decree No. 007-2023-MIMP approves the Multisectoral Rural Strategy for the Prevention, Attention, Protection and Recovery from Violence against Women, Family Members and Sexual Violence in Rural Areas. This strategy proposes the implementation of a comprehensive intervention system that addresses in an articulated manner the subsystems of prevention, care, protection, sanction and recovery, with an approach focused on the inter-institutional articulation of services provided by public and private sector entities and civil society. Its scope of action covers the regional, provincial, district and communal levels, and its purpose is to guarantee a life free of violence for women, children, adolescents, the elderly and other vulnerable groups, ensuring the full exercise of their rights in all their diversity. The general objective of the strategy is to coordinate and mobilize resources and capacities of the sectors and institutions involved, to strengthen specialized services in rural areas to address gender-based and sexual violence.
