Description

The policy seeks to ensure sustainable use of hydrobiological resources and aquaculture, strengthening the coordination and harmonization framework within the Central American Integration System. It focuses on contributing to food security and improving population quality of life through nine strategic components including institutional strengthening, regional governance, fisheries management, climate change and regional trade. The policy promotes participation of organized actors with gender equity and especially considers indigenous populations related to fisheries and aquaculture.
