Manual for the Use of the National Organic Production Seal (Directorate Resolution No. 0001-2023-MIDAGRI-SENASA-DIAIA)

The Manual for the Use of the National Organic Production Seal was approved through Directorate Resolution No. 0001-2023-MIDAGRI-SENASA-DIAIA, published on January 5, 2023. It establishes graphic specifications and instructions for the proper use of Peru's National Organic Production Seal on the labels and packaging of certified organic products. The manual defines the seal's visual composition, dimensions, proportions, typography, colors, versions, clear-space requirements and placement on product packaging. It provides examples of correct and incorrect applications on paper, cardboard, glass, metal, plastic, wood and flexible packaging. It addresses the differentiated characteristics of the seal for products certified by authorized certification bodies and participatory guarantee systems, in accordance with the applicable regulatory framework. Use of the seal is voluntary for certified organic operators and facilitates the identification of products holding recognized organic certification. The manual is a technical instrument complementing the national organic production certification and oversight framework. It does not establish new certification procedures, inspection systems, financing mechanisms or technical assistance programs.
