Peru: Environmental Management Regulations for the Manufacturing Industry and Domestic Trade (Supreme Decree No. 017-2015-PRODUCE)

Approved by Supreme Decree No. 017-2015-PRODUCE, its purpose is to promote and regulate environmental management in these sectors, fostering the conservation and sustainable use of natural resources in the development of their activities. It also establishes rules for the application of environmental management instruments, procedures, and protective measures, and encourages the adoption of cleaner production agreements, prioritizing the Principle of Prevention. The provisions of the regulation, along with its complementary regulations, must be implemented by the Ministry of Production and by the Regional and Local Governments that have assumed these powers within the framework of the decentralization process.
