Description

This Supreme Decree approves the Regulations that govern the formalization process for the recognition of Agrobiodiversity Zones, aimed at conserving and sustainably using native species cultivated by indigenous peoples. Its purpose is to establish the procedure for such recognition, with the general objective of improving the living conditions of these communities through the valorization and local management of agrobiodiversity. Its specific objectives include: - Promote the conservation and sustainable use of agrobiodiversity and agroecosystems. - Integrating these areas into local, regional and national economies. - Promote compensation mechanisms for ecosystem services. - Strengthen the traditional knowledge, technologies and practices of indigenous peoples linked to the conservation of native species.
