Peru: Environmental Management Regulations for the Agricultural and Irrigation Sector

Through Supreme Decree No. 006-2024-MIDAGRI, the Ministry of Agrarian Development and Irrigation (MIDAGRI) approved the Environmental Management Regulations for the Agrarian and Irrigation Sector (RGASAR), whose purpose is to regulate the environmental management of the sector's activities and projects, promoting sustainable and competitive investments in the country's agricultural activities. This regulation is mandatory for all persons, whether natural or legal, both public and private, who carry out activities related to the Agricultural and Irrigation Sector within the national territory. Among the projects and activities covered by this regulation are included: - Agricultural primary production and/or transformation. - Primary livestock production and/or transformation - Irrigation and water consolidation projects. - Primary forestry production and/or transformation
