Description

The main purpose of the General Law of Agrarian Health, established in Legislative Decree No. 1059, is to establish provisions for: (a) prevent, control and eliminate pests and diseases that affect animals and plants, and that may endanger human, animal or plant health; b) promote adequate sanitary conditions that foster the sustainable growth of agroexports; c) regulate the production, marketing, use and final disposal of agricultural inputs in order to strengthen the competitiveness of the national agricultural sector; d) promote the implementation of integrated pest management to ensure that agricultural production meets quality and competitiveness standards.
