National Productive Diversification Plan

National plan approved by Supreme Decree No. 004-2014-PRODUCE, published on July 28, 2014, establishing a multisectoral strategy to diversify Peru's productive structure, develop new drivers of economic growth, increase productivity, reduce dependence on raw-material exports, and promote formal, high-quality employment. The plan is organized around three pillars: promotion of productive diversification; regulatory adjustment and administrative simplification; and productivity expansion. Its measures address participation in value chains, cluster development, technological innovation, business capacity building, quality improvement, productive infrastructure, and coordination between public institutions and private stakeholders. The plan includes measures related to agribusiness activities, including Regional Agribusiness Innovation Centers, although its overall scope is multisectoral rather than exclusively agrifood-oriented. The Ministry of Production leads its institutional coordination. The document establishes actions, targets, indicators and responsible institutions, particularly for the initial 2014-2016 implementation period. It should not be confused with the National Productive Diversification Program established by Supreme Decree No. 010-2014-PRODUCE, which is a separate institutional instrument.
