Description
The National Policy for International Technical Cooperation (PNCTI) to 2030 is the main instrument for managing International Technical Cooperation (CTI) in Peru, this policy has been approved under the framework of Supreme Decree No. 008-2023-RE; This planning document responds to the dual role of Peru as a recipient and provider of cooperation, and is aligned with the Foreign Policy and the Policy Statement on International Technical Cooperation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The objective is to improve the effectiveness of the use of STI received by the country and strengthen the Peruvian Offer of International Technical Cooperation (OPCTI), promoting joint development. The PNCTI defines objectives, guidelines, services and specific indicators, in addition to establishing priorities to direct resources - from both official and non-governmental sources - towards programs, projects and activities that complement national development efforts. This includes different forms of cooperation: traditional North-South, South-South Cooperation (SSC) and Triangular Cooperation (TC), among others.
STI in Peru is governed by the Law on International Technical Cooperation and is under the stewardship of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MRE), which is responsible for formulating, planning, directing, coordinating and supervising national policies in this area.
