Policy framework that establishes the economic valuation of environmental goods and services provided by Honduras' protected areas, demonstrating their contribution to national socioeconomic development and justifying investment in conservation. The study quantifies the value of critical services such as water provision, tourism, carbon sequestration and protection against natural disasters to inform environmental policy decisions. It provides the basis for designing sustainable financing mechanisms for protected area management and contributes to integrating ecosystem value into national economic planning.
