Description

The Pesticides and Toxic Chemicals Control Board Act of Guyana establishes the legal framework to regulate the importation, manufacture, sale, transportation, storage, and use of pesticides and toxic chemicals in the country. This legislation creates the Control Board as the entity responsible for overseeing all activities related to these products, issuing registrations and licenses, and ensuring compliance with established safety standards. It establishes mechanisms to protect human and animal health and the environment from harmful effects associated with improper handling of agrochemicals and hazardous substances. It implements monitoring, inspection, and enforcement systems to ensure that all operations comply with current standards and regulations.
