Description

Resilient El Seibo is an initiative implemented in the Dominican Republic by the European Union's Global Climate Change Alliance Plus (GCCA+) that promotes ecosystem-based adaptation strategies and disaster risk reduction in the mountain-coastal gradient of El Seibo. This program integrates ecosystem conservation and restoration actions, strengthening of sustainable livelihoods, and local governance to increase the climate resilience of vulnerable communities. The initiative applies nature-based solutions to address challenges such as floods, droughts, and extreme weather events, simultaneously protecting biodiversity and improving the well-being of local populations. It represents an innovative model of territorial climate adaptation.
