Description

The National Plan for the Conservation of the Jaguar is a strategic instrument that seeks to promote harmonious coexistence between communities and jaguars in Honduras. This plan recognizes the jaguar as a keystone species for ecosystem conservation, addressing the main threats such as habitat fragmentation and human-jaguar conflict. It establishes guidelines for the conservation of jaguar populations in protected areas and biological corridors, with emphasis on the Honduran Moskitia and Caribbean regions, where priority conservation areas for this emblematic threatened species were identified.
