Description

The National Forest Fire Protection Plan 2024 is a comprehensive initiative designed to safeguard Honduras' natural resources and protect its communities from the devastating effects of forest fires. The plan articulates prevention, early detection, combat, and liquidation actions within the framework of the National Forest Protection Committee (CONAPROFOR) with participation from multiple governmental, non-governmental institutions, and local communities. It features an implementation strategy based on susceptibility maps that identify priority areas by risk level, establishing a coordinated approach to minimize the negative impact of fires on ecosystems, biodiversity, and Honduran communities.
