Description

The National Plan for the Utilization of Water Resources of Venezuela established in 1961 is a comprehensive planning instrument for strategically managing the country's water resources. It develops a systematic approach for sustainable water use, addressing multiple applications such as public supply, agricultural irrigation, hydroelectric generation, and flood control. It contemplates the assessment of available water resources, establishes investment priorities, and proposes an institutional framework for its effective implementation at the national level. It integrates environmental, economic, and social considerations to ensure the satisfaction of water needs for different productive and population sectors.
