Description
Forests for Good Living - REDD+ Action Plan Ecuador is a strategic instrument developed by Ecuador's Ministry of Environment to reduce emissions from deforestation and forest degradation. This national plan, effective from 2016 to 2025, implements the REDD+ mechanism of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, integrating forest conservation objectives with sustainable development and good living principles. It establishes policies, measures and actions to decrease deforestation, promote sustainable forest management, increase forest carbon stocks and improve living conditions of communities dependent on forest ecosystems, aligning with Ecuador's climate commitments and national development policies.
