Description

The Action Plan for the Conservation of the Black-breasted Puffleg 2021-2031 is an instrument developed by Ecuador's Ministry of Environment, Water and Ecological Transition in collaboration with Aves y Conservación to protect this endemic and threatened hummingbird species from northwestern Ecuador. This document establishes ten-year priority strategies and actions aimed at the recovery and conservation of the species and its natural habitat, integrating scientific research, territorial management, ecological restoration and environmental education. The plan involves various institutional actors, local communities and conservation organizations, with the goal of ensuring the long-term survival of this emblematic species, while promoting sustainable development of communities within its distribution area.
