Description

The Action plan for the conservation of Ecuadorian primates is a strategic instrument developed by the Ministry of Environment of Ecuador (MAE) in collaboration with the Ecuadorian Primate Study Group (GEPE) and the Ecuadorian Mammalogy Association (AEM). This document establishes guidelines and priority actions for the protection, conservation and sustainable management of primate species in Ecuador, addressing the main threats facing these species and their habitats. The plan integrates scientific, political and social approaches to ensure the long-term survival of Ecuadorian primates, considering their ecological importance as seed dispersers and their contribution to national biodiversity.
