National Program for Payment of Environmental Services - Floresta+

The National Program for Payment of Environmental Services - Floresta+ was established by the Brazilian Ministry of Environment to promote the private market for payments for environmental services in areas with native vegetation cover and articulate public policies for conservation and protection of native vegetation and climate change. The program has national scope covering all Brazilian biomes, encouraging monetary and non-monetary compensation for activities to improve, conserve and protect native vegetation. It includes the implementation of a pilot PSA project "Floresta+" in the Legal Amazon with resources from REDD+ results-based payments.
