Description

The Forest Regulations of Guyana constitute a fundamental component of the legal framework for the sustainable management of the country's forest resources. They establish specific standards for the management, conservation and sustainable use of state forests that cover approximately 87% of the national territory. These regulations include mechanisms for issuing forest permits, monitoring harvesting activities, controlling illegal logging and protecting biodiversity, integrating with Guyana's international commitments on climate change and forest conservation.
