Description

Law that creates the National Water and Basic Sanitation Agency (ANA) of Brazil as the federal entity responsible for implementing the National Water Resources Policy, integrating the National Water Resources Management System, and establishing reference standards for the regulation of public basic sanitation services. ANA is established as an autarchy under special regime, with administrative and financial autonomy, currently linked to the Ministry of Integration and Regional Development. The law defines the agency's competencies, organizational structure, attributions, and funding sources, as well as establishes the framework for integrated water resources management in Brazil.
