Law No. 9,795: Environmental Education Law

Establishes the regulatory framework for environmental education in Brazil, instituting the National Environmental Education Policy as an essential and permanent component of the national education system. Defines environmental education as the processes through which individuals and communities build values, knowledge and skills aimed at environmental conservation. Establishes responsibilities for various sectors of society, including public authorities, educational institutions, companies and media, promoting a holistic, participatory and transdisciplinary approach that seeks to strengthen critical awareness of environmental and social issues.
