Description

Legal framework that establishes standards for the protection of native vegetation, Permanent Preservation Areas and Legal Reserve areas in Brazil, regulating forest exploitation, supply of forest raw materials, control of the origin of forest products and fire prevention. It defines principles for sustainable development, making productive land use compatible with the preservation of water, soil and vegetation, establishing differentiated regimes according to the size of rural property and consolidating the use of areas occupied until July 2008. It creates economic and financial instruments to promote preservation, recovery of native vegetation and development of sustainable productive activities.
