The Guyana National Forest Plan 2018 accompanies the National Forest Policy Statement, developed through technical and stakeholder inputs between February and September 2017. It presents a comprehensive framework for the conservation, protection and utilization of state forests, ensuring social, economic and environmental benefits for current and future generations. The plan is structured around four specific objectives: deriving economic benefits, conserving and protecting forests, governing forest resources, and developing human and institutional capacities for sustainable forest management, through 8 policy goals and 27 strategies operationalized by 70 activities.
