National Strategy on Forests and Climate Change of Peru (ENBCC)

Fecha de inicio: 22/07/2016
Fecha de fin: 31/12/2030

Description

The National Strategy on Forests and Climate Change (ENBCC) is the main management instrument aimed at reducing forest loss and degradation in Peru, decreasing greenhouse gas emissions linked to the LULUCF sector, while improving the resilience of forest landscapes and the populations that depend on these ecosystems. The ENBCC proposes a vision for 2030, establishing strategic actions to reduce deforestation and forest degradation, promote their conservation and sustainable use, as well as implement REDD+ in the country. It focuses on comprehensive territorial management with special emphasis on Amazonian, Andean, and dry forests, seeking to articulate the interventions of various public and private actors in favor of forests and climate change.
