Description
The National Forest Health and Sanitation Strategy of Honduras 2020-2030 is a management and coordination instrument led by the National Institute for Forest Conservation and Development, Protected Areas and Wildlife (ICF), through the Department of Forest Health and Sanitation (DSSF). It establishes strategic guidelines and actions for the prevention and control of forest pests and diseases, emphasizing institutional strengthening, capacity building, information systems and early warning, research, preventive silviculture, and visibility. Its implementation is based on the participation and interinstitutional and intersectoral coordination of various actors in the forest sector to reduce and minimize the impacts of pests and diseases that affect the country's forest resources.
