Description

Brazil's ENREDD+ is an economic instrument developed under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change that provides financial incentives for results achieved in combating deforestation and forest degradation and enhancing forest cover. It contributes to climate change mitigation by eliminating illegal deforestation, promoting conservation and rehabilitation of forest ecosystems, and developing a sustainable low carbon forest economy, generating economic, social and environmental benefits through three action lines: coordinating public policies, measuring and verifying results, and raising results-based payments.
