Fecha de fin: 30/12/2034

Description

The Strategy for Low Carbon Livestock in Costa Rica 2015-2034 is an initiative declared of public interest through Decree No. 39482-MAG, which seeks to align livestock activity with the national commitment to carbon neutrality. Designed with participation from the private sector, guilds, agricultural sector institutions, and academia, this strategy responds to Costa Rica's commitment to climate change mitigation and adaptation expressed in multiple national policy instruments. The strategy aims to prepare the livestock sector for climate change, implementing necessary adaptation mechanisms and reducing vulnerability to extreme climate events. It authorizes state institutions to carry out actions within their competencies to facilitate public-private arrangements that allow its implementation.
