Description

The Presidential Decree creates the Management Unit for Conservation and Recovery of Species as part of the organizational structure of the State Secretariat for Natural Resources and Environment (SERNA), directly dependent on the Secretary's Office. This unit's main objective is to coordinate, administer, and supervise the Metropolitan Zoo of the Central District, known as the "Rosy Walther National Center for Conservation and Recovery of Species," to improve its management, educational, scientific research, tourism, recreational, and conservation purposes for Honduran fauna and flora species. The Unit will have an organizational structure that includes a General Coordinator and five Sub-units: Administrative, Surveillance, Management and Marketing, Maintenance, and Technical-Veterinary, each with specific functions to fulfill the objectives of conserving endangered species.
