Decree No. 11,368 of January 1, 2023 modifies Decree No. 6,527 of August 1, 2008 to establish a new governance structure for the Amazon Fund, a climate finance mechanism administered by Brazil's National Bank for Economic and Social Development (BNDES). The decree reinstates and updates the composition of the Amazon Fund Steering Committee (COFA) and the Technical Committee (CTFA), defining their attributions and functioning to ensure that the Fund's initiatives are aligned with the Action Plan for the Prevention and Control of Deforestation in the Legal Amazon (PPCDAM) and the National REDD+ Strategy (ENREDD+), establishing clear guidelines for fundraising and recognizing donors' contributions through diplomas certifying their support for carbon emission reductions.
