Decree No. 11.367: Permanent Interministerial Commission for Deforestation Prevention and Control and Action Plan for Deforestation Prevention and Control in the Legal Amazon

Decree No. 11.367 of January 1, 2023 establishes the Permanent Interministerial Commission for Deforestation Prevention and Control and reestablishes the Action Plan for Deforestation Prevention and Control in the Legal Amazon (PPCDAm), as well as provides for similar plans for other Brazilian biomes. This institutional framework, chaired by the Chief Minister of the Civil House of the Presidency, integrates 19 ministries to define and coordinate interministerial actions aimed at reducing deforestation rates in Brazil, through four main axes: sustainable productive activities, environmental monitoring and control, territorial and land tenure planning, and regulatory and economic instruments, with a focus on transparency and social participation.
