Agreement Number 027-2015 on Forest Management of Ejidal Areas Within the Community Forestry Framework

Fecha de inicio: 18/11/2015
Fecha de fin: N/A

Description

The Agreement establishes a regulatory framework for the approval of forest management plans in units smaller than the total area of municipal ejido property titles, with the purpose of promoting community forestry in Honduras. It allows municipalities to assign ejidal forest areas to organized communities through community forest management contracts for extendable 5-year periods, simplifying administrative requirements and substituting certain cadastral documents with certificates of legal nature of the ejido. The framework seeks to facilitate communities and municipalities benefiting from the Community Forestry Strategy, contributing to sustainable management of forest resources, poverty reduction, and improvement of the standard of living for the rural population.
