The National Community Forestry Strategy is a national framework that promotes and provides support to communities registered in the Social Forestry System of Honduras to develop optimal management and comprehensive use of forests. It incorporates communities living in or around national forest areas in protection, management, forestation, and comprehensive use activities, including the transformation, industrialization, and commercialization of forest products. It responds to the mandate of the Country Vision and Nation Plan by promoting responsible and sustainable use of forest resources, contributing to reducing deforestation, forest degradation, and poverty in rural areas, as well as decreasing rural emigration.
