Description

The Guidelines establish the legal, technical, and administrative directives for the management, use, and transportation of trees in agroforestry systems (conifers and broadleaf) already established on public and private lands in Honduras. It focuses on reducing the supply of illegal timber, expediting approval procedures to promote legal harvesting, and improving economic conditions through employment generation in rural areas. The framework regulates procedures for the preparation, approval, and execution of Special Plans in Agroforestry Systems (PESA) in areas less than one hundred hectares, establishing technical and administrative requirements.
