Description

The Decree regulates the implementation of the Organic Law on School Feeding, establishing mandatory standards to guarantee the right to healthy and sustainable food for girls, boys, and adolescents in the public and fiscomisional education system in Ecuador. The State will provide food primarily of national origin, based on principles of food sovereignty, through the National Comprehensive School Feeding System (SNIAE), using intercultural and territorial approaches. The participation of Family Farming and the Popular and Solidarity Economy in the provision of food is encouraged, with an emphasis on gender equity and good agricultural practices. The Inter-Institutional Committee on School Feeding will be in charge of coordinating the operation of the system, with representation from key entities such as educational, agricultural, and health authorities.
