(Es) (Ecuador) Executive Decree 323: General Regulations of the Law for the Defense and Development of the Peasant Family Economy

Fecha de inicio: 03/07/2024
Fecha de fin: N/A

Description

The Regulations of the Law for the Defense and Development of the Peasant Family Economy establish the guidelines for regulating this productive modality, recognized for its economic, social, environmental, and cultural value. Aimed at individuals and communities practicing peasant family farming, the Regulations detail key definitions, registration mechanisms, development policies, and strategies to improve the sector's productivity, marketing, education, and infrastructure. They emphasize family participation, limited access to resources, and income diversification as distinctive features. They also promote sustainable rural development through plans and programs that prioritize rural women and youth, and guarantee the mainstreaming of a gender perspective through specific empowerment and violence prevention actions. Some sectors of civil society have raised concerns about this regulatory framework regarding the registration mechanisms and the direction of the proposed development for this sector.
