Ecuador: Gender and Climate Change Action Plan 2024 — Integrating Gender Equality into Climate Adaptation and Mitigation Policies

Ecuador's Gender and Climate Change Action Plan (PAGcc), published in 2024 by the Ministry of Environment, Water and Ecological Transition, is a public policy instrument aimed at mainstreaming gender equality and intercultural considerations into climate change management. The plan aligns its actions with Ecuador's Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) and addresses gender gaps across priority sectors for climate adaptation and mitigation. It establishes objectives, actions, responsible institutions, and indicators to strengthen women's capacities, promote their participation in decision-making, and improve resilience to climate impacts.
