The Alliance for Development in Democracy is a regional initiative established in September 2021 that brings together Costa Rica, Ecuador, Panama and the Dominican Republic with a commitment to strengthen democratic institutions, the rule of law and the protection of human rights. It is structured around four fundamental pillars: political dialogue, cooperation, environment and trade and investment, seeking to address common challenges such as irregular migration flows, economic recovery and the fight against climate change. It establishes a strategic partnership with the United States of America to consolidate actions in areas of economic growth, migration, environmental sustainability and security.
