Peru: Section One of the Regulation of Organization and Functions of Agromercado - Supreme Decree No. 008-2024-MIDAGRI.

Agromercado is attached to the Ministry of Agrarian Development and Irrigation (MIDAGRI) and operates nationwide, with a presence in highland and jungle departments, and gradually on the coast depending on budget availability. Its main function is to promote and develop economic activities related to agriculture, livestock, beekeeping, reforestation and agroforestry, as well as the primary transformation of products, with emphasis on strengthening the competitiveness of small and medium agricultural producers, especially family farming. In export matters, it follows the guidelines of MIDAGRI and coordinates with the governing body of foreign trade.
