Law No. 141 of June 14, 2011, Law on the Promotion and Marketing of Chili Peppers and Peanuts in Bolivia

Bolivia’s Law No. 141 designates the production, industrial processing, and marketing of chili peppers and peanuts as a national priority. It promotes the modernization of production, irrigation, postharvest improvements, and the conservation of native varieties and traditional knowledge. It also fosters agroindustrial transformation and access to domestic and international markets. It mandates the Executive Branch to facilitate technology transfer to promote organic production. Furthermore, it establishes intergovernmental and social coordination to regulate the law and finance its implementation.
