Plans for Sustainable Dairy Production (PLS) Uruguay

Regulatory tool that establishes responsible soil use and management plans for dairy production in the Santa Lucía River basin in Uruguay. It determines specific crop rotations for dairy production that do not generate soil erosion losses above tolerable levels. Includes a chemical and organic fertilization management program to control phosphorus levels in the soil. Requires submission of plans by all dairy farmers in the basin through registered agronomists.
