Description

Regulatory framework that declares of national interest the use and conservation of soil and surface water for agricultural purposes in Uruguay. It establishes the obligation of all citizens to collaborate with the State in the conservation, use, and proper management of these resources. It determines that the owners of agricultural operations must apply techniques indicated by the Ministry of Livestock, Agriculture and Fisheries to prevent soil erosion and degradation. It provides for penalties for non-compliance and establishes joint and several liability of the owner of the property. Defines a regulatory approach for the sustainable management of natural resources in agricultural production.
