Description

Decree 915/988 prohibits the importation, manufacture, sale, and use of veterinary hormonal drugs for promoting growth or fattening in cattle, sheep, swine, horses, and poultry intended for human consumption. It allows the controlled use of certain drugs for therapeutic purposes under veterinary prescription, including superovulation, estrus induction, and treatment of reproductive disorders. The decree aims to protect public health and comply with hygiene standards required by international markets. It establishes penalties for non-compliance and mandates the Ministry of Livestock, Agriculture, and Fisheries to regulate authorized substances and conditions of use.
